An open session for people of all ages to enjoy and respond to what they have seen in the Hauser and Wirth, 2024 Phyllida Barlow Show. The workshop adopted Barlow’s attitudes to an ‘open art school’ and there being no right or wrong way to be creative. The session encouraged attendees to think about sculpture as something more than a physical thing, focussing on ‘colossal’, drawing directly from Barlow’s huge portfolio of work in their enormity. We will guide people in considering their bodies in relation to a piece/ object and then, to the space within which that sits, grows or moves.
